Our Mission:

To create sustainable economic opportunities for the disadvantaged in the developing countries of the world, enabling and empowering the people living in these communities to create their own pathway out of poverty.

Our Vision:

A world in which all people have the opportunity to evolve from operating out of day-to-day necessity and survival into operating with a focus on sustainability, growth and planning for the future.

Approach
We enable this by providing interest free loans for the capital that is needed so that these small (usually 6-10 families) community groups can start their own businesses.  The amount of the loan is based on a carefully examined business plan that they submit for approval after determining themselves what business they want to start.    Loans range in amount from $750 to $56,000.

These businesses provide jobs, income, goods and services to the community.  Instead of requiring that the businesses pay interest on their loans, The iF Foundation requires that 10% of the business’s profits be placed into a community fund.

The money our groups borrow, when fully paid back, will then be available to another community group.  100% of every dollar The iF Foundation receives from donors goes directly to help people pull themselves out of poverty.  That same dollar is recycled and used again to build a sustainable pathway out of poverty for families and communities in developing countries where we have partnerships.  Donor dollars are a direct investment in people.  Your gift to The iF Foundation helps break the cycle of poverty and empowers local communities.  Together we promote sustainable economic growth, the creation of employment and strong communities.
