Value Added Jobs Bring Hope to Local Community

At the core of the iF Foundation’s mission is economic development through job creation.  In Haiti, there are many challenges to overcome in order to create a sustainable business including a non-existent market, lack of infrastructure and a lack of available capital to invest. One of the benefits emerging from the development of Haitian Pride Poultry is the creation of value added jobs springing up throughout the community.  Now, local community members can purchase locally produced, fresh eggs at market price and use them in their own unique business venture.  It is not uncommon to see egg sandwich stands and women selling hard-boiled eggs along the side of the road in Thibeau, charging a price for their product that will hopefully sustain them and give them at least a small profit.
